今晚夜班，我像平常一样提前回站。刚进监控楼，看见一个身材高大健硕的黑人走进来，用他那不太标准的国语向我说了句“请问”。我以为他要借厕所，正想指引他进去。谁知那黑人又说了句“天河北，I want to go to Tian He Bei?”原来他是进来问路的。惨了，我英语并不是很好，怎么跟他沟通呢？我只好硬着头皮，用我仅会的几个单词加上一些手势解说给他听，最后那黑人说了声“Thank you”，便开车离开了。不知道他明白多少，我只能希望他不要走太多的冤枉路。
最近交易会又开幕了，又会有很多的外国友人会通过我们华南路去琶洲交易会场馆。作为“窗口”行业的我们，如果连几句有关本行业的英语都不会，那真是太失礼了。所以，一下夜班回家，我马上翻书查字典，务必要学会有关我们收费方面的一些常用英语对话。
以下是我整理的一些有关收费方面的常用英语，以供大家参考：
（一） 常用词汇
高速公路expressway 收费站toll station 收费员toll collector 入口entrance 出口exit
通行卡pass 通行费toll fee 直行go straight/ahead 转左turn left 转右turn right
调头take a U-turn 拖车tow truck
（二） 常用对话
请拿通行卡。Here is your highway pass.
